Washington Haiku! Situational Tour

The sign marks the place.
Dupont Circle , here I am.
Now I sit and wait.

Who was on the line?
What could they possibly want?
Check watch, quarter ‘til.

The homeless gather
On the benches that surround
TheDupont Circle .

Students congregate.
It makes me really wonder:
Could this be a prank?

Some ladies ask me
If I would take their picture.
The answer is yes.

My nerves are now fried.
Why am I always ruled by
Curiosity.

Did this man call me?
I’ve never seen him before.
Vote ‘no’ to disturb.

What a nice fountain.
Hopefully it will not be
The last thing I see.

“Hey, you over there.
Yeah, you with the Red Sox hat,
And the worried face.”
The phone call was brief.
Meet at Dupont at
Bring only yourself.
I stop for coffee.
Double Grande Espresso.
And some cinnamon.
The sign marks the place.

Uh, hello mister.
Are you the one that called me?
Delicious guitar.
“Indeed I am sir.
I have an urgent message
To tell in person.”
I have been racking my brain,
Trying to solve it.
Be excellent to each other,
also, peace, love, dope.”
Unsure of what I have heard.
But one thing is clear.
Remove my name and number
From the town phone book.
